Chiropractic Adjustments in Arlington Heights

An adjustment is not a crack for its own sake. It is a specific force, applied to a specific joint, chosen because that joint has stopped doing its share of the work. Get the right one and the muscles around it stop guarding. Get a generic one and you are back next week.

Momentum Health Center is a corrective practice, which changes what an adjustment is for. Dr. Michael Dziurgot is certified in Chiropractic BioPhysics, with around 120 hours of post-graduate seminars behind it, and CBP measures your posture and spinal alignment against a norm rather than adjusting by feel alone. So we are not only trying to make you comfortable this week, we are trying to change the structure that keeps making you uncomfortable. Posture analysis is part of this visit, not a separate appointment.

How Do Corrective Adjustments Work?

An adjustment applies a controlled, targeted force to a joint that has lost its normal motion. That restores movement, reduces mechanical pressure on the nerve, and lets the surrounding muscles release the guarding pattern they had adopted. In a corrective plan we take measurements first, including on-site digital X-rays where they are warranted, so the adjustments are aimed at a specific structural change rather than repeated indefinitely. How often you are seen depends on what the exam shows, and it should reduce over time rather than continue at the same rate indefinitely.

Benefits of Corrective Adjustments

What patients tend to notice as care progresses:

  • Relief That Lasts Longer Each Time: As the structure changes, the gap between flare-ups usually widens.
  • Better Range of Motion: Joints that move properly let you turn, bend and lift without bracing first.
  • Reduced Nerve Pressure: Less mechanical irritation at the nerve root can ease referred pain into a limb.
  • Improved Posture: CBP care targets the alignment pattern rather than the symptom it produces.
  • Better Sleep: Patients often report this before they report anything else.
  • A Plan With an End Point: You are told which phase you are in and roughly how long it should take.

What to Expect at Your Visit

Your first visit follows the same shape every time:

  • Consultation and Exam: History, orthopedic, neurologic and range of motion testing.
  • On-Site Digital X-Rays: Taken and read with you during the visit when they are clinically needed.
  • Report of Findings: We explain what we found in plain words and what we propose to do about it.
  • Your Care Plan: Phased as Better, Stronger, Healthier, with the length stated up front.

If what you have is not ours to treat, we will say so at this stage and help you find the right person.
